FAMILY EVENT - SCIENCE STORYTIME      11AM-1PM Representatives from the Arizona Science Center visit for some sweet-“heart” fun! We’ll read the classic story The Kissing Hand and enjoy hands-on activities like learning about the science behind chocolate and making heart-print valentines.

TEEN EVENT - JILLIAN CANTOR: THE LIFE OF GLASS      4PM Jillian Cantor, author of The September Sisters, visits with her new teen novel The Life of Glass. Before he died, Melissa’s father told her about stars -- the brightest stars weren’t always the most beautiful. But even though Melissa knows that beauty isn’t only skin deep, the people around her don’t seem to feel that way. There’s her gorgeous sister, Ashley, who barely acknowledges Melissa at school; her best friend, Ryan, who may be falling in love with the sophisticated Courtney; and Melissa’s mother, who’s dating someone she knows will never be able to replace her father. To make sure she doesn’t lose her father completely, Melissa spends her time trying to piece together his secrets and finishing a journal he began. But when tragedy strikes, Melissa has to start living in the present as she realizes that being beautiful on the outside doesn’t mean you can’t be beautiful on the inside as well.
