Comedian Jim Breuer visits with his new book I’m Not High: But I’ve Got a Lot of Crazy Stories about Life as a Goat Boy, a Dad, and a Spiritual Warrior. With his goofy smile, sleepy eyes, and stoner’s laugh, Breuer might not appear to be the most introspective comedian out there. The fact that he made his mark playing “Goat Boy” on Saturday Night Live and a recalcitrant toker in the stoner classic Half Baked doesn’t help his reputation. But in I’m Not High, Breuer reveals the complexity behind his simpleminded persona. He dishes on everything from SNL, fellow actors Chris Farley, Dave Chappelle, and Tracy Morgan (who taught him lasting lessons about the high-stakes game of fame), and the constant role of his family in keeping him honest. Whether he’s arguing with his wife, trying to take care of his kids, or helping his ailing father through the day with his dignity intact, it’s clear that his best comedic material comes from his best moments as a son, a dad, and a husband.
