Novelist and Guardian columnist Chris Cleave, author of the international bestseller Incendiary, visits with his latest, Little Bee, a haunting novel about the tenuous friendship that blooms between two disparate strangers -- one an illegal Nigerian refugee, the other a recent widow from suburban London. According to the Washington Post, “Little Bee will blow you away. [Cleave] has carved two indelible characters whose choices in even the most straitened circumstances permit them dignity -- if they are willing to sacrifice for it. Little Bee is the best kind of political novel: You’re almost entirely unaware of its politics because the book doesn’t deal in abstractions but in human beings.”
SEATING begins one hour before the event. Lettered tickets (free with book purchase) will be called alphabetically to fill seats and will also be used to form the booksigning line. Each ticket is good for two seats. Seating opens to the general public fifteen minutes before the event, so please arrive early, as space is limited.
