Steven I. Dahl visits to discuss his life, his writing, and share his novel, Chicken Fried Steak. On a clear spring morning, Bryson Bender, M.D. stood in a parking lot, watching his medical office and Ob/Gyn practice go up in smoke and flames. Frustration, health problems and a bullet leave him physically and emotionally burned-out. Fascinated with a possible new life—without middle of the night baby deliveries—he turns his passions toward the highway. Bryson’s new goal—to see the heartland of America and to eat the perfect chicken fried steak. Teamed with a retired farmer and a shiny blue eighteen wheeler, they set out like babes in the woods only to find that their first cargo might be their last. Tricked, lied to, attacked, hijacked and tormented to exhaustion, they see the USA like no one else would ever want to. Dahl lives and writes adventure—in 2010 he meet with heads-of-state, served a humanitarian mission aboard the USNS Mercy, published two novels, moved to Europe and and launched an international book tour.
