Let Frida Reign! A Frida Kahlo Birthday Celebration with the Phoenix Fridas

Hundreds have attended the Phoenix Fridas' annual Frida Kahlo celebration at Changing Hands over the years. This year, “Let Frida Reign!” when the Fridas celebrate Hispanic heritage with a Frida look-alike contest and indoor craft market featuring local Southwestern styles, jewelry, needlepoint, and fashion. "Frida Beader" Carmen Guerrero performs "Songs of Women/Songs of Struggle," and "Smoking Frida" Emily Costello demonstrates how to draw a "Frida." The Phoenix Fridas are the winners of the Phoenix New Times' "Best Heroine Worship" and "Best Art Collective" awards. More info: ThePhoenixFridas.com.
