Linda Greenlaw - Seaworthy: A Swordboat Captain Returns to the Sea
06/11/2010 7:00 pm

Linda Greenlaw, the only female swordfish boat captain in America, visits with her book Seaworthy: A Swordboat Captain Returns to Sea.
Greenlaw hadn’t been bluewater fishing for ten years—not since the events chronicled in the books The Perfect Storm and The Hungry Ocean—but with her lobster traps coming up empty, her truck on its last gasp, and the bills piling up, she decides to take a friend up on his offer to captain a boat for a season of swordfishing.
The adventures begin immediately: The ship is rusty and ancient, and even with a crew of four Greenlaw is faced with technical challenges, including the complexities of longline fishing and the nuances of reading the weather. Her greatest challenge, however, comes when the boat’s lines drift into Canadian waters and Greenlaw is thrown in jail.
TICKETS (free with book purchase) will be called alphabetically to fill seats and will also be used to form the booksigning line. Seating opens to the general public fifteen minutes before the event, so please arrive early, as space is limited.
