What happens when a person loses hope but still wants to make art? Poet Kate Greenstreet would like her new collection, The Last 4 Things (which includes a DVD of two short films), to be read as if it were a found object, like something left on an empty bus seat -- not a document addressing the question “Why do we make art?” but acknowledging the fact that we do make art, despite conditions, whether it’s a photograph or a simple stick drawing in the dirt. Also tonight, three award-winning ASU MFAs: 42 Opus editor Elizabyth Hiscox (Inventory from a One-Hour Room), Rose Swartz (Things I’ve Left Between), and Douglas Jones (No Turning East).
