Ed Grumbine: Where the Dragon Meets the Angry River

05/25/2010 7:00 pm

GrumbineDr. Ed Grumbine, Chair of the Masters in Environmental Studies Program at Prescott College, presents Where the Dragon Meets the Angry River. Grumbine traveled to China’s Yunnan province to find out if nature and wildlife within China can survive the country’s unrelenting industrial development. As he hiked through emerald mountains, backcountry villages, and burgeoning tourist towns, he discovered that the problem wasn’t as simple as growth versus conservation. China must prosper with a new strategy that involves using and protecting nature as well as collaborating with the rest of the world and maintaining China’s unique heritage.
