Carolyn Jessop - Triumph: Life After the Cult
05/18/2010 7:00 pm
Carolyn Jessop, the first woman ever granted full custody of her children in a suit involving the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, presents her new memoir, Triumph: Life After the Cult. Her first book, Escape, was the harrowing tale of how she escaped a polygamous community with her eight children. Since then, Jessop has crossed the country for countless speaking events where she is asked, “How did you find the strength to leave?” In Triumph, Jessop answers those questions and updates audiences about the details of her life after the raid on the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Texas — including how she coped with her daughter’s return to FLDS and what she describes as “damaging misinformation” that flooded the media.
Lettered tickets (free with book purchase) will be called alphabetically to fill seats and will also be used to form the booksigning line. Seating opens to the general public fifteen minutes before the event, so please arrive early, as space is limited.
