Ernest W. Michel: Promises Kept
03/08/2010 7:00 pm
Ernest Michel tells the story of his miraculous survival in Promises Kept: One Man’s Journey Against Incredible Odds. Michel spent five and a half years in Nazi concentration camps, including Auschwitz. Seven months later, he went from writing death certificates to reporting on the Nuremberg trials and attending an interview with top Nazis, coming face-to-face with the likes of Hermann Göring. In 1981, Michel became the initiator and chairman of the World Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors, which was attended by 6,000 survivors and their families from all over the world. Event co-sponsored by Temple Emanuel.
