| THURSDAY, JANUARY 12 7pm | Meet Sandra Marquez Stathis | Rubble: The Search for a Haitian Boy |
Stathis lived and worked in Haiti for four years in the 1990s, and returned in the aftermath of the deadly 7.0 quake that struck on January 12, 2010. There, she embarked on a quest in search of Junior Louis, the unforgettable boy who was seven years old and homeless when she first met him in the ‘90s. While trying to find out if he has survived the quake, she learns that Junior’s story is Haiti’s story. Rubble is her portrait of Haiti—its beauty and its pathos—and the story of her lifelong bond with an extraordinary young boy.
