Eckstut and Sterry show you how to craft a dynamite pitch. And be sure to bring your pitch with you, even if it's far from perfect!
LOCATE, LURE, AND LAND THE RIGHT AGENT
In many ways, it's much harder to find a great agent than it is to write a great book. Pitchapalooza is American Idol
for books (only kinder and gentler). Twenty writers will be selected at random from among the Publishing Conference attendees to pitch their book. Each writer gets one minute, and only one minute, to convince the judges why their book deserves the judges' attention. At the end, those judges will pick a winner who will receive an introduction to an agent or publisher best suited for his or her book.
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
Whether potential authors pitch themselves, or simply listen to trained professionals critique each presentation, Pitchapalooza is educational and entertaining for one and all. At Pitchapalooza, judges will help you improve your pitch, not tell you how bad it is. Judges critique everything from idea to style to potential in the marketplace and much, much more. Authors will come away with concrete advice as well as greater understandings of the ins-and-outs of the publishing industry.
