When the last day of senior year hits, Rowan is partnered up with her worst enemy, Neil, for their school's annual scavenger hunt. But what if the guy she claims is her worst nightmare isn’t what she expected? I absolutely loved this book. It made me happy and giddy and crave what the characters have: the enemies-to-friendship and finally friendship-to-lovers relationship. Crave their banter and sweet confessions. Crave the connection. This slow-burn high school romance is by far one of the best books I’ve read this year and I 10/10 recommend to anyone who wants to lose themselves in a book. -Kayla, 15

After moving to an unfamiliar town, Anna Cicconi finds herself recognizing things and confessing to the murder of someone she’s never seen. This intriguing mystery novel kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I knew what was happening, something made me doubt my suspicions. The reveal of what happened to Zoe Spanos was shocking, to say the least. This book had multiple red herrings that kept me guessing until the end. Sensitive topics include: swearing, brutal deaths, suicide, attempted rape, and drinking. -Sierra, 15

In this addicting coming-of-age novel, Sydney Reilly finds herself through a whirlwind summer of first time love, sexual harassment and questionable loyalties. This book calls into question female stereotypes and expectations, which I enjoyed because it made complicated, real-life situations straightforward. Sydney is one of the most relatable characters I've encountered, asking herself questions about her role as a daughter and a woman that I've struggled to put into words. Seriously, every thirty minutes I was picking this book up. Do yourself a favor and pick it up too. -Zoe, 15

I'm a die-hard Little Women fan, so of course I was intrigued by a retelling of the iconic story where Jo and Laurie end up together. Overall, I thought it was an amusing and quaint re-imagining of what could have been in the Little Women canon. This story follows Jo as she writes the sequel to Little Women, her first acclaimed novel. It was charming in that the story took two beloved characters, and put them in a fresh story. I would recommend giving this book a try if you enjoy Little Women, especially if you wish Jo and Laurie ended up together. -Ruby, 14

The long-awaited return of Kiera Cass actually surprised me at how much I enjoyed it. I loved The Selection, it's a staple of my early teenage years, therefore I was very excited about THE BETROTHED. For the most part, I got exactly what I wanted from this book: entertainment. Kiera Cass is known for writing vivid royal scandals, which is exactly what THE BETROTHED is. The book unexpectedly left me feeling rather shocked at the end, and I quite look forward to finding out where Cass plans on taking the story of Hollis. -Ruby, 14

At times when I was reading this book, I closed the book, then rested my head on top of it, saying to myself, “Rachel. What on earth are you doing. You’re going to make a mess of your life.” And then I picked the book back up and continued reading. It was realistic and funny, and I thought, “I’ve been there” countless times. Watching how Rachel got into, then through it all, was hilarious. -Avalon, 12

THEY WENT LEFT is a powerful book that made me truly appreciate my family. The story covers Zofia, a Holocaust survivor, on her journey to reunite with her brother. After concentration camps were liberated, Jews found it almost impossible to return to their old lives. Young Zofia is only one example as she leads readers through her path of sorrow, discovery, memory, but, also, romance. This book is a must-read for everyone because Zofia's truth will change your viewpoints of family and the history you read about in textbooks. -Lola, 13

This book has found its way into my top five. IF THESE WINGS COULD FLY is just so incredibly immersive, it's the kind of book you miss when it's finished. One of my favorite elements of this book was its multidimensional characters. It proved that bad guys can be good, that home is found in good people, not places, that sometimes the change we want to see can only happen if we do the unexpected. This is a book I will absolutely reread and reread just to get the weight of it back in my hands. Lovers of coming-of-age and romance, lovers of great writing, this book is for you. -Zoe, 15

Sherri L. Smith’s writing is as enticing as it is beautiful. As I tore through the pages, the perfect, poetic words broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes. This compassionate tale of war, love, and hope takes place in Japan 1945. It centers around two young people who want nothing more than to serve their country, until they meet each other. Taro is a pilot ready to serve, no matter the cost. Hana is an introspective young woman, broken and torn by the talons of war. They are brought together and split apart by the hope that their love will persevere, even when nothing else does. -Eva, 11

Melodrama, sisterhood, and merciless revenge: FOUL IS FAIR isn't what it should be, it's what it needed to be. A teenage, modern-day spin off of Macbeth, the words of the girls in this book will cut you deeper than swords. Their solidarity is as powerful as fate. FOUL IS FAIR is more than girl power and justice, it's a book that sets things on fire. The writing is unlike anything I've ever read before. It's poetry, violence and romance spun to create art. I've never felt that people could need a book the way WE NEED THIS BOOK. -Zoe, 15

How can you tell when someone is lying? Especially when you're accusing the golden boy of hitting his girlfriend. Do you believe her, or the boyfriend who said it was just an accident? Whose side would you choose? Adults tend to brush aside teenage problems because they think we're young and naive. But all teens should be able to voice opinions without being judged; to express our feelings without being afraid of not being heard. I loved this book because these kids don't let that stop them from doing what is right, and they make a difference. WHAT KIND OF GIRL voices the importance that it's okay to be imperfect and it brings awareness to depression, anxiety, abusive relationships, as well as eating disorders. It's a reminder that your problems are important no matter what age you are. -Kayla, 15

I haven't read many graphic novels, but I immensely enjoyed WONDER WOMAN: WARBRINGER. The story took unexpected twists and turns, leaving me unable to put it down for the last 80 pages or so. The art style is beautiful, and though sometimes stories when converted to graphic novel form feel too rushed, this one did not at all. The Wonder Woman story is well known, but this adaptation takes a deeper look into the mythology surrounding her, and how that could apply to an action-packed tale. Overall, a very enjoyable read. -Ruby, 14

LOVEBOAT, TAIPEI is truly a fun read. It's about a girl fighting for her dream, finding yourself in the people around you, and taking chances. It captures the essence of the teenage dilemma: deciding your future without any idea who you are. I loved LOVEBOAT, TAIPEI because while it journeys through Chinese heritage and crushing parental expectations, it amplifies how it feels to love, to be scared, and to persevere. -Zoe, 15
