Debut Christian author Frances Brakebill launches her faith-based memoir / self-help book on finding the strength to overcome the tribulations of divorce.
She is joined by Dr. Dwayne Buckingham, the Service Chief of Resiliency and Psychological Health at Walter Reed Medical Center. Tonight's event also includes Phoenix Rescue Mission, which receives 10% of all Brakebill's net book sales.
A divorce, Brakebill knows personally, is extremely painful and heart-wrenching. Unfortunately, when a divorce becomes an inescapable reality, it's hard to prepare for the tremendous physical, emotional, legal and financial stress ahead. Her faith-based Christian book supports those who are faced with divorce (or other similar life-changing events) and its aftermath; telling readers to find comfort and promise knowing that there will be a light . . . even though that light can't be seen from within the painful darkness that they are currently facing. She shares genuine stories, based on real-life events that shaped and forever changed her outlook toward marriage and divorce — how self-discovery, self-love, self-perseverance, prayer, faith in God, forgiveness, optimistic thinking and spiritual growth were the key ingredients to help her cope more effectively with the aftermath of divorce. Even in her days of utter brokenness, hurt and depression — days when she was hanging by a cruel thread — Brakebill found strength and perseverance through her faith in God. Most importantly, the author wants her readers to know that ultimately they, too, can and will experience the same resilience. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
