Roderick Townley: A Bitter Magic
Wyatt Townley: The Afterlives of Trees

Wyatt and Roderick Townley
A Bitter Magic
The Afterlives of Trees

Poet Wyatt Townley and children's author Roderick Townley weave poetry with kid lit to explore the great theme of home—the need to leave it, the longing to return.

They'll draw on their latest books—Wyatt's The Afterlives of Trees, Roderick's A Bitter Magic—as well as archetypal myths of home from Shakespeare to Harry Potter, from Homer to Peter Rabbit!

All ages welcome.

WYATT TOWNLEY and RODERICK TOWNLEY have been a married couplet of writers for over 30 years. Between them they have published over 20 books, translated into Russian, Estonian, Chinese, Japanese, and German. Wyatt is the Poet Laureate Emeritus of Kansas, and her work has been published in journals from The Paris Review to Newsweek. Roderick’s work has been optioned for film, issued in book club and large print editions, and declared a classic by critics.
