Introducing READ WRITE RESIST, a Changing Hands / ACLU-Arizona partnership!

Join us for the series launch, when ACLU representatives discuss their Campaign for Smart Justice, a multiyear initiative aimed at reducing the U.S. jail and prison population by 50 percent and combating racial disparities in the criminal justice system. We'll also launch our READ WRITE RESIST tees, totes, and stickers. A portion of proceeds will benefit ACLU-AZ!

Here's how we'll mobilize for action:

READ
  • Suggested reading list provided by ACLU-AZ
  • ACLU-AZ screens animated mini documentary series, "Mass Incarceration."
  • Panel discussion with Will Gaona (policy director ACLU-AZ), Cat Castaneda (voting rights organizer), Kathy Brody (ACLU-AZ Legal Director), and Amy Kalman (President of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice).

WRITE
  • Write/share information about our current criminal justice system via Facebook or Twitter.
  • Subscribe to Smart Justice/ACLU updates.
  • Share one or all of the mini documentaries with friends and family

RESIST

  • Sign up to host a Smart Justice event in your home or community.
  • Volunteer as a Smart Justice advocate
