Mystery writers kill for a living. Do they feel guilty about it? According to our mystery-writing panelists, they don't. In fact, they're having fun.

In "What's a Nice Girl Like You Doing with a Murderer Like This?" authors Betty Webb (The Otter of Death), Donis Casey (Forty Dead Men), and Eileen Brady (Chained) explain why they write mystery, and how you can too. Webb explains: "It's a great way to settle real-life scores without having to go to prison!"

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
BETTY WEBB is the author of ten best-selling Lena Jones mystery series (Desert Vengeance, Desert Wives, etc.) and five humorous Gunn Zoo series (The Otter of Death, The Puffin of Death, etc.). Her award-winning series, featuring the sleuthing mother of ten children who will do anything, legal or not, for her kids, is set in Oklahoma during the booming 1910s. While researching her own genealogy, Donis discovered so many ripping tales of murder, dastardly deeds, and general mayhem that she said to herself, "Donis, you should write a series." She has twice won the Arizona Book Award for her series, and been a finalist for the Willa Award and an eight-time finalist for the Oklahoma Book Award. Her first novel, The Old Buzzard Had It Coming, was named an Oklahoma Centennial Book in 2008. Donis is a former teacher, academic librarian, and entrepreneur. She lives in Tempe, AZ. Her newest book is Forty Dead Men.

A practicing veterinarian for over 20 years, EILEEN BRADY's first book, Muzzled, A Kate Turner, DVM Mystery, won the 2013 Discover Mystery Award.
