In celebration of Save the Frogs Day (yes, it's a real thing!), the author offers up crafts, songs, and a special presentation of her picture book about a frog named Phibian who learns a valuable lesson about how to be happy just by being himself.
Confusion starts when Phibian, short for amphibian, has undergone so much change that he is sure he will keep on changing. Each animal he meets seems wonderful, and he wonders if he will become something other than what he already is. His mother assures him that he is finished with big changes and will simply grow and mature. But Phibian loves every animal that comes his way, and he believes he will become one of them at any moment. His mother's mantra, "You are special just the way you are" is a message that we too, need to hear and allow to take root in our own hearts.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
SANDY OGLESBY has spent her life loving and enjoying the small child. As an early childhood specialist she has taught pre-school, run special events for the young child, been the keynote speaker for workshops and told stories at dozens upon dozens of pre-schools and the early primary grade schools. Integrated learning is her favorite way to work with children. She believes that when all their senses are activated, they enjoy and grasp concepts at an accelerated pace. Knowing full well that play is the child's work, Sandy allows for interaction and movement to be a part of every story she tells.
