Changing Hands Phoenix presents a pop-up writing workshop with instructors Amy Silverman (Phoenix New Times) and Deborah Sussman (ASU's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts).

AMY SILVERMAN is Managing Editor at Phoenix New Times, the local alternative newsweekly paper where she's worked for more than 20 years. She is a commentator for KJZZ, the local NPR affiliate, and her work has appeared on the radio show This American Life, as well as in publications including The New York Times, Salon, and Brain, Child. DEBORAH SUSSMAN received an MA in English/Creative Writing from Hollins University and an MFA in Fiction from the University of Virginia. She has taught writing at the University of Virginia, Phoenix College and Arizona State University. Once upon a time an editor at Scholastic, Sussman is now the communications and media specialist for ASU's Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. Her writing has been published in the Washington Post, the Phoenix New Times and Art in America, among other places.
