IN CONVERSATION WITH CELEBRITY MEDIUM ALLISON DUBOIS

Gretchen Bonaduce: Surviving Agent Orange

PHOENIX | 7PM FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

Surviving Agent Orange
Gretchen Bonaduce

Reality star Gretchen Bonaduce visits Phoenix with her new memoir.

Gretchen came onto the scene in the mid-00s, starring in Breaking Bonaduce, a VH1 reality show with her former Partridge Family star husband Danny Bonaduce. Soon after the show ended, they divorced. Surviving Agent Orange focuses on the rest of the story: her eighteen-year marriage to Danny and all that entailed—addiction, infidelity, and the chaos of celebrity, as well as their divorce and her life as a single mother. Musician, reality star, and mother of two, Gretchen's story takes a fun and funny look at a life in and around the spotlight.

In conversation with celebrity medium Allison DuBois, Gretchen will talk about surviving a difficult marriage, being in the spotlight, and much more! More »

Malva

by Hagar Peeters, Vivien Glass (Translator) | Paperback, $18.95 »

Malva His birth name, Neftali Reyes, is not as widely recognized as his pen name, Pablo Neruda; the name he gave his only child, Malva Marina Trinidad Reyes, is lesser known yet. Born with a grave disorder, she died a child, far from her father, and voiceless. But the voice and musings given to Malva's ghost, in this disarming novel by the Dutch poet Hagar Peeters (whose own father perished in an act of Chilean political violence), as well as the companions Malva finds in the beyond, lifted me across oceans and decades, effortlessly. The tumultuous decades, the pain turned poetry, are eased for us through Malva's sweetness; Peeters gives her such life, one can only be grateful.  —Claudia
